So LynnSheridan came up with a fun tag about making a pirate crew based off your favourite anime characters and having them each fulfil one of seven specific roles on your fictional ship. I don’t know anything about ‘One Piece’ the series that inspired this tag but it seems straightforward enough–just gotta find characters whose abilities line up with the roles!
- Display the My Pirate Crew logo and add ‘My Pirate Crew’ as a tag.
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and post a link to their blog.
- Link back to the original post here (so I can compare your crews to mine).
- Select seven anime characters and give them a position on the crew. These are the positions you can to fill. Warrior, sniper, chef, doctor, scientist, navigator, strategist, mechanic, entertainer.
- Nominate 5-10 bloggers.
- Set sail and rule the seas!
Now, naturally because it’s me where talking about my crew will be entirely female and will also function as a harem. Now there’s a pirate show I’d watch!
Warrior – Hitomi Uzaki (from ‘Killing Bites’)
While there’s no shortage of badass warrior women who use swords, to me ‘Warrior’ is more about being able to fight without weapons and ‘up close and personal’. And so Hitomi seemed to me to be the obvious choice, with claws that eviscerate, dismember and decapitate (in that order) she is one tough woman who’s not to be messed with!
Sniper – Yamaneko Arthur (from ‘Han-Gyaku-Sei Million Arthur’)
What’s more powerful than a sniper rifle? A rocket launcher of course. And with Yamaneko providing the heavy artillery there’s no need for the ship to worry with those cumbersome and slow to reload canons anymore! Double duty achieved!
Chef – Megumi Tadokoro (from ‘Food Wars!’)
There’s an obvious reason for picking Megumi to be the ship’s chef (and it’s not that she’s completely adorable and I’m in love with her) it’s because she grew up in a small fishing village and can do things with a fish and a knife that most people can only dream of. And what’s the most abundant food supply when you’re on a ship? Seafood of course!
Strategist – Kazuki Kazumi (from ‘The Grisaia series’)
She’s literally one of the smartest people on Earth. I mean I can’t give you specifics on how smart she is because that’s ~major~ spoilers for the ‘Grisaia’ series but let’s just say her intelligence is on the level that she’d give the best supercomputer a run for its money! Oh and she’s got a claw for a hand, that’s practically a hook! See, she’s pirate worthy!
Doctor – Suu (from ‘Monster Musume’)
While it wasn’t really explored in the show as much, it is canon that the liquid Suu’s body is made of can cure the cold, purify poisons and heal cuts and bruises. Just keep her away from the side of the ship since she kind of dissolves in water…
Mechanic – Lala Satalin Deviluke (from ‘To Love-Ru series)
With an intellect said to be one of the highest in the entire universe and the ability to turn any old useless junk into miraculous inventions whose applications are as varied as they are useful–there’s no one more suited to keep the various mechanisms aboard the ship in check. Heck give her a minute and she’ll turn a normal ship into a space ship without even breaking a sweat!
Entertainer – Aqua (from ‘Konosuba’)
I mean we needed someone to balance out all the capable and useful people on the ship, right?
I wrote this a while ago, so if you’ve already been nominated/don’t want to participate then no worries!
And that’s everything! Hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading!
