Because this season I’m watching more shows but reviewing less of them week-to-week I figured it’d make sense to at least let you all keep tabs on my brief thoughts on each episode. Just because a show is here doesn’t mean it’s any less good than any other show, it just means I didn’t have enough to say about it to justify a full review! Also, I’ll try and refrain from spoilers where possible but will give warning if I do need to post a spoiler.
Space Battleship Tiramisu Zwei (Episode 2 & 3)
Figured I’d lump both episodes together seeing as they were fairly similar thematically, not a lot to this show but it still manages to elicit a laugh every episode, so for me that’s enough reason to watch! The bit with the delivery guy having more “universe sense” than Subaru’s brother was hilarious.
Banana Fish (Episode 14)
New cour means, well not a lot, its the still the same old Banana Fish, for better or worse. Mostly better in the case of this episode, I was kinda hoping Eiji would leave the US and Ash would chase after him to Japan and the rest of the season would take place in Japan but this is good too.
Ms. vampire who lives in my neighbourhood. (Episode 2)
I love this show, and am really regret not reviewing it week-to-week, but then again my reviews would just be filled with shipping the two leads and making kawaii faces at them. A much better cute girl show than Anima Yell!
Boarding School Juliet (Episode 2)
Another surprisingly solid episode, I love the world building, the sea-side setting for this show is gorgeous, the male lead is adorkable–I really enjoy how ‘overly emotional’ he is, especially compared to the (mostly) stoic–but still badass, Juliet. Also, damn if Juliet isn’t somehow more attractive dressed up as a boy! Or maybe my preference for brunettes is just showing itself there…
The Girl In Twilight (Episode 3)
From a show I was so excited about in the first episode, it’s now ended up relegated to ‘watched but not reviewed’ I’ve become that unenthused with it. And it’s not just one thing but lots of little things, and I don’t really like any of these girls, so that’s a big problem as that’s half the reason I watch most anime. Also if a character has to say, in relation to a confusing plot point “I don’t get it, but okay” not once, not twice, but three times in a single episode–that’s just bad writing.
Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san (Episode 2)
Not as out-right funny as the first episode but still delivering a remarkable amount of interesting insight into the world of Japanese bookstores. I like this show a lot, it makes me smile.
As Miss Beezlebub Likes (Episode 2)
Man can not subsist on cuteness alone, something I never thought I’d be saying. While I do appreciate them fleshing out this universe a little more, the rate at which their introducing new characters is almost too slow. But a part of the problem is this show ~already~ feels slow so the gradual and lengthy introductions don’t help matters. Azazel was a good character, although his shtick was kind of overplayed by the end of the episode and the other girl was just confusing, I’ll stick around for one more episode in the hope that the purple haired girl in the credits ends up being a more worthwhile contribution to the show, if not I’ll probably be dropping it.
Zombie Land Saga (Dropped At Episode 2)
And that’s the week I’m calling ‘Week 2’ although it’s more just all the Episode 2’s plus some Episode 3’s from show’s that started early in the season. If you have any more questions about these episodes and specific thoughts I had on specific scenes, leave me a comment below!
